About me
Teresa Jennings, LCSW, LAC, is based in Durango, Colorado, and serves as the Program Director at La Plata Youth Services, a nonprofit supporting youth through mental health, mentorship, and diversion programs. She is also a Mental Health Advisor & Community Wellness Manager with Cornerstone Safety Group, where she blends her years as a river guide and expedition leader with her work as a clinician and program director. She has guided whitewater rafting, climbing, and multi-day wilderness trips, experiences that gave her a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of high-adventure settings. Over the past ten years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Teresa has worked in public education, trained staff, supported schools and youth programs, and led teams through complex situations with a focus on resilience and well-being. Her global travels—from teaching in South Korea to cycling tours throughout the world—add to her broad perspective and passion for helping programs create safe, supportive, and thriving environments for staff and participants alike. Margaret is the Risk Management Director with Cornerstone Safety Group. She recently stepped down from being the Executive Director of Talisman Programs, a camp in Western North Carolina serving adolescents and young adults with ADHD and on the Autism spectrum. She also currently serves on the Association of Experiential Education Accreditation Council and Board of Directors. She formerly held the positions of Director of Operations and Director of Risk Management and Compliance at Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness (2021-2024), Health Director at Open Sky Wilderness Therapy (2017-2021, and Program Director, Case Manager, Staff Mentor, and Head Guide at Alaska Crossings (2010-2016) and has worked with commercial rafting, canoeing, and kayaking companies. She is formerly the Best Practices Committee Chair on the Outdoor Behavioral Health Council Board. Margaret has enjoyed traveling and exploring the world and has also had incredible opportunities to live all over the country and world and now is based in Asheville, North Carolina with her husband, two beautiful children, and furry critters.
