About me
Kennedy serves as the National Program Manager for Internships at the Student ConservationAssociation (SCA), where he leads strategic efforts to cultivate the next generation ofenvironmental stewards through federal workforce development initiatives. With over a decadeof experience in the non-profit sector, Kennedy specializes in program management, talentacquisition, and AmeriCorps service within conservation and public land management spaces.In this role, Kennedy works closely with key federal partners, including the National Park Service,U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, to design andimplement internship programs that address critical workforce needs while expanding careeraccess for underrepresented communities. His ability to build strong, mission-drivenpartnerships has resulted in increased federal hiring pathways and strengthened collaborationbetween public agencies and community-based organizations.Prior to joining SCA, Kennedy served as the Programs & Development Manager for GreeningYouth Foundation, where he managed national and federal partnerships while fosteringrelationships with leading Outdoor Retailer brands, such as Keen, Vibram, Backcountry,Patagonia, The North Face, Columbia, Osprey, Kuhl, Cotopaxi, and Jack Wolfskin. His workdirectly supported the advancement of diverse talent pipelines within conservation and naturalresource management fields.A native of Aurora, North Carolina, Kennedy is a proud graduate of Fayetteville State University, aHistorically Black College & University (HBCU). His passion for youth development andworkforce equity has allowed him to support global outreach efforts in Japan, Finland, SouthAfrica, China, and Costa Rica.Kennedy remains committed to investing in his community. Each year, he leads the “Love Day”Back-to-School Bash in his hometown, providing essential resources to ensure students andfamilies are prepared for the upcoming academic year.
